As ICT underpins today’s modern lifestyle, it is essential that all pupils gain the confidence and ability that they need in this subject, to prepare them for the challenge of a rapidly developing and changing technological world. Our provision of ICT enables discrete ICT teaching following the ICT curriculum. Either by using desktops, laptops or iPads, the children learn how to safely navigate the internet; communicate and collaborate on wikis or blogs on our learning platform; desktop publish and create presentations. Other resources the children regularly use are digital cameras and video cameras; control equipment and voice recorders. Cross curricular teaching of ICT builds on skills learned in discrete lessons using real contexts, audiences and meaningful outcomes. Children and staff use ICT whenever they feel it is appropriate.
