Mr Singh's Holiday Club

Congratulations to all children in Years 2 to 6. We have started off the new sporting year with our first virtual sports competition against children from other schools. Children from all the participating schools, took part in Athletics challenge events within school and the results were submitted to Amber Valley School Sports Partnership, who collated the results.

We have won the small schools category for KS1, Lower KS2 and Upper KS2! Fantastic effort by everyone in all the events. Well Done!

A huge congratulations to the Rhinos team, which has 4 of our Curzon pupils, who won the Derby Football League cup on Sunday. The competition had over 50 teams and started before lockdown with the semi and final after. A fantastic achievement by you all!

A long trip down to Reading and a night in a hotel, for the football team. Raring to go in the morning, they were on form winning 2 and drawing 2 of the group stage games (qualifying them for the quarter finals). Then it all came to a sudden stop as the EFL ruled to stop all footballing activities with immediate effect. A disappointing end to the morning but we walked away with heads held high and an unbeaten record. Fingers crossed, we'll have chance to finish the competition before the end of the year. Congratulations to all of you for your superb efforts and repressing our school so well!

They will now represent Derby County in Bristol, where they will face the winners from the other southern Championship clubs and play for the chance to go to Wembley! You've all been amazing and thoroughly deserve this opportunity!
